Is silver a metal?

If I spoke of metal as a group of certain materials, what would it be?

Would silver be a metal, an element or something else?

Silver is both a metal and an element.

It is a “soft metal” and has a brilliant, shiny, white luster. It’s generally considered as a precious metal but not as precious as gold.

Silver is a popular metal used in jewellery, silverware and even in currency as coins. It also has important uses for the medical field as well as many other industries.

Some top producers of silver are Peru, Mexico and Bolivia.
