Is Mauritius in Africa?

My aunt and uncle went to Mauritius two months ago and when they came back they said they had a great time there.

They initially invited me but I declined because I thought Mauritius was in Africa and I wasn't too keen on going to Africa.

They keep telling me that it's not in Africa and Mauritius is an island in the middle of the ocean?

Is Mauritius in Africa or not?
