Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis) can be found on Indonesian islands.

Specifically islands of Komodo, Rinca, Gili Motang and Flores. It sounds like a lot of places but it’s actually a small area and in some areas only around 100 of these monitors can be found.

There are only around 4 or 5 thousand of them left in the wild and are considered a vulnerable species.

The Komodo dragon (Komodo monitor) is the world’s largest lizard. It can grow up to lengths of 3 meters.
